Spennymoor Town Youth Football Club has taken an exciting step forward, officially launching as a Community Interest Company (CIC) — a new chapter that gives our club the independence and focus to serve young players across the region better than ever before.
After operating under the umbrella of Spennymoor Town FC for over a decade, the Youth FC has transitioned into Spennymoor Town Youth Football Club CIC, with day-to-day operations now led by the coaches and volunteers who have been at the heart of our club throughout that journey.
A formal partnership agreement has been signed between Spennymoor Town FC managing director Ian Geldard and our chairman Gareth Richards, ensuring that the close relationship between the youth club and the senior set-up continues in full.
With over 30 teams and more than 350 children and young people involved — from U7s right through to U23s — this new structure gives us the platform and autonomy to focus entirely on what matters most: the development and wellbeing of every young player in our system.
As part of the ongoing partnership with Spennymoor Town FC, all players and coaches within the Youth FC will receive free season tickets to Men’s First Team fixtures for the 2025/26 season. We will also continue to benefit from access to the state-of-the-art 4G pitch at Whitworth Park Academy, as well as key club partners including Motif8 Embroidery and Teamwear..
